FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clearwater, FL (January 31, 2015) Supply chain software developer Datex recently announced new functionality to help better manage expiring products.  Datex warehouse management software version 3.12 now includes customizable workflows for allocation to help enable clients to optimize space and labor in the warehouse.

The new allocation workflows in Datex Footprint® WMS can help companies optimize labor by minimizing the number of pick tasks. The workflow based allocation can also help by maximizing pick tasks in order to clean out a specified area in order to create more available space in the warehouse.  Companies can also customize workflows in order to help provide expanded control over which lots can be selected by such factors as days left and lot number.  This level of expanded control can prove helpful in enabling companies to have the maximum number of days remaining before the products expire. Allocation workflows can prioritize full pallets before case picks and also be based on ship date or delivery date.

Datex Footprint® WMS utilizes workflow, a robust engine that powers business processes throughout supply chain operations.  A “workflow” incorporates logic and decision making along with a set of activities that are joined together to form a business process.  Datex Footprint® WMS relies on workflow to help make business processes faster, easier and more affordable to change.  Using a workflow based warehouse management system can result in substantial savings on professional service hours for costly changes to source code.  Using workflow also tends to result in more accurate business processes and can reduce administrative and other costs.
