Best Buy Boasts Same Day Delivery Using Partner Instacart

The largest consumer electronics retailer in the United States, Best Buy has launched a partnership with Instacart to provide customers with same day delivery of technology products.  As its online sales have tripled during the COVID-19 pandemic, Best Buy recognized the importance of providing enhanced convenient options to its customers.

Best Buy announced in August that it was designating 250 of its stores as delivery hubs to handle a significant amount of online orders via a new ship-from-store option.

The new same-day delivery option through Instacart will be available from nearly all Best Buy locations across the U.S.

Simon Malls Provide Drop-off Return Locations for Consumers

Leveraging its partnership with Narvar, Simon Malls has found a way to make malls a new convenient addition to the holiday online shopping process.  Traffic to shopping malls has been in decline for several years as consumers have increased their desire for convenient, online shopping.  With the global COVID-19 pandemic, the challenge has increased dramatically.

For years, consumers have increased their use of online shopping, and returns have mounted to more than 30% annually for some types of goods.  This has been driving up prices and has created environmental and sustainability challenges as well.  The problem of processing returned goods is huge and costly for online retailers.  Add to this consumers’ desire for convenient, simplified returns and the problem is greatly magnified.

Simon Malls has teamed up with an online platform that helps retailers facilitate the consumer shopping journey, Narvar.   According to Narvar consumer research, approximately a third of consumers used an alternative location to drop off their last return.  Consumers reported wanting printer-free returns and cited the need to consolidate multiple errands within one trip. Consumers can now drive to a participating Simon Mall location and drop off returns for online purchases for processing by Narvar.  Labels are not required.
