Expansion of Datex query builder feature within its warehouse management system empowers customization of the software

CLEARWATER, Fla. (PRWEB) May 15, 2019

Software developer Datex continues to expand functionality that enables users of its award-winning warehouse management system to customize the software without making changes to source code. By incorporating a rules engine on top of its query builder feature, Datex has expanded the ability for companies to easily customize processes and incorporate an unlimited number of conditions and actions. This enables greater intricacy and complexity of operations without having to make costly changes to source code.

Within Datex Footprint® WMS, the query builder feature empowers users to gain access to any information within the system, any time and in any way needed. Previously, access to information had been limited to fields available within the WMS. Now using the query builder feature, users can use their own parameters or attributes of the product, order, lot, customer, owner or project to access data. Queries can be easily built and created to be as simple or complex as needed. User defined fields can be created and used as well, eliminating static screens. The Datex warehouse management system includes standard prepared queries and enables even non-technical users to create their own queries after receiving training.

Datex warehouse management system users can use query builder to access a wide array of information and operations including inbound shipments, outbound orders, open orders, 3PL billing and more. Users can create brand new queries with any type of functionality to get the information needed then save and use the queries in any aspect of the WMS. For example, a CFO may create a query to figure out the amount of recurring billing based on specific parameters or set up contracts that automate billing to add a specified handling fee per case for FDA regulated goods.

“Datex e-commerce fulfillment clients find this especially useful in dealing with very large volumes of orders. They use query builder to customize and execute processes automatically such as processing all rush orders. Queries are incorporated directly into the automated operation, so the WMS software user does not need to know how to write code” explained Michael Armanious, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
