 Clearwater, FL (September 18, 2006) - Don’s Cold Storage, who is building a 3PL refrigerated warehouse in Rogers, AR, has selected Datex International as the solution provider for their warehouse and transportation needs.
Don’s Cold Storage is in the process of building a 160,000 sq ft cold storage warehouse and transportation hub that will support 200 semis. The facility that will employ around 35 workers will be served by a rail line and will use refrigerated semi-trailers to pick up and deliver chilled and frozen products to distribution centers and stores. The operation will be able to blast-freeze up to 30 trucks a day.
Datex EX WMS 3PL Software is composed of modules that automate warehouse operations based on the use of RF terminals and system directed operations. The capabilities of the system include receiving, blind receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, shipping, inventory control and order management among others.
The transportation portion of the implementation will be handled by Datex’s most recent business partner, PCS Software, with the implementation of “Express”, the first commercially available windows-based Transportation Software system in the country to integrate dispatch and accounting software to create one complete system.
The implementation of WMS 3PL software and Transportation system will start after the initial Business Process Analysis is done, where Datex analysts will be able to offer the company with the best practices in order to run their business in the most efficient way. This will optimize the use of the 3PL WMS system giving Don’s an ideal start to their operations.
