Washington D.C. (July 31, 2006) - Datex International served as a resource speaker at the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) Assembly of Committees held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington DC. Datex provided a 45 minute presentation followed by questions and discussions about the state of the union of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) as it relates to the Public Refrigerated Warehouse Industry.
The Assembly of Committees, composed of 10 specialty committees, is an annual event that provides members the best opportunity to discuss key issues, learn about the industry, participate in discussions with colleagues, and make recommendations regarding the association to the board and staff. The registration count for this year was close to 200 people, and the theme chosen was “leadership in logistics”.
The purpose of the Technology Committee, for which Datex is a member of, is to provide IARW members with evaluations of existing and future trends in technology related to public refrigerated warehouse with special emphasis on information processing.
Over 60 people from companies’ members of the IARW were interested in the utilization of technology in order to become more efficient and competitive in an ever evolving industry. “The event was amazing...members from all across North America took part in an open forum discussion on the topic of RFID. Although some members were a little skeptical about the technology, we all agreed that we cannot pretend it doesn't exist and we must figure out a way to implement it without creating a financial burden", commented Michael Armanious, Senior Logistics Analyst at Datex International and one of the speakers at the event.
