Primary Function: Manage the technical aspects of project implementations including building of reports, data migration to new systems, data importing and exporting, integration of data over multiple databases, troubleshooting, issue identification and tracking, system testing and documentation of requirements and design. This position requires a high level of technical skill and the ability to relate end-user needs to programming staff as well as develop solutions independently.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
      Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs work of high difficulty in designing, writing, editing, modifying, and debugging reports.
  • Perform integration of systems on various database structures to meet enterprise level reporting and tracking needs.
  • Process the import and export of data from SQL databases to other database structures for clients during initial implementation and as an ongoing part of support for the end user.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests for software modules, perform testing function and compare test results with expectations.
  • Provide assistance to support personnel as needed to determine system problems and provide troubleshooting.
  • Log system bugs and issues, track development status, follow up on pending issues, push patches out to end user systems.
  • Prepare Design Documents (System Enhancements, etc.) to communicate requirements definitions and product design information to programming staff. Develop thorough and comprehensive requirements documentation that can be used for configuration and scope management.
  • Work closely with product management and engineering management to identify new product ideas, create requirements, and the coordination of project activities from end to end.
  • Coordinate with Development staff to ensure applications meet business process needs.
  • Making presentations to management, customers, or professional peers.
  • Analyze and adapt development processes and methodologies to meet the objectives of given projects.
  • Participate in development of long range planning for new projects.
  • Ensures appropriate implementation of technology both within the production and the development environments
  • Assists in the development of procedures and establish controls as needed in order to ensure overall quality.
  • Maintains relationships with clients.
  • Ensure that the Documentation Specialist is provided clear and correct information about the system.
  • Work with Product and Internal groups to develop any customizations necessary and to resolve product and technical issues. Work closely with the Project Manager to rapidly move client through implementation cycles and manage all risks/issues
  • Actively report product feature requirements and competitive information to responsible teams.
  • Report project status, and issues at weekly team meetings.
  • Coordinates the efforts of other Information Services Divisions to ensure the success of the project.

 

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Additional Qualifications:
  • Expert in Crystal Reports and SQL 2005
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office products including Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
  • Solid understanding the principles of client/server architecture and programming.
  • Good knowledge of security and encryption.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills, ability to track several projects concurrently.
  • Understanding of general business processes.
  • Energetic and positive approach to rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex workplace.

 

Work Environment:
  • Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard. Subject to sitting, walking, bending, twisting, standing and handling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment.
  • Flexibility in assigned working hours and ability to travel.
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek.
