Position: Project Coordinator: Ref (PC)

Primary Function: Coordinate the internal and external staff involved in a project implementation by preparing appropriate documentation, preparing and maintaining project plans, monitoring progress, identifying barriers to completion and overcoming issues, and managing scope and change request issues. This position requires the ability to provide training to the end user, prepare documentation to assist the end user and the ability to work with external customers to ensure that guidelines are clearly established and adhered to. This position also requires the ability to provide initial support and troubleshooting, data collection for issue escalation, and the ability to install systems and updates.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
      Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Preparation and updating of Project Plans. Responsible for assisting with application systems/project planning, estimating, tracking and management.
  • Monitor and provide periodic status to Project Team on development progress, schedule, possible risks, necessary modifications of methodology, and any other issues regarding the project’s alignment with the methodology employed.
  • Installation of core system, updates, and customizations on customer system
  • Support Tracking and Follow Up during implementation, Go-Live, and normal phases of a project
  • Provide internal and end-user training on program functions and processes
  • Documentation of system processes.
  • Manage Change Requests submitted by the user or internal staff.
  • Creation and signoff of the Project Charter.
  • Work closely with the business functional areas, and external customers and vendors in defining systems/project priorities, scope, approach, resource requirements, timing deliverables and funding.
  • Position will provide information to and coordinate with the application development staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of the project on a daily basis (may include multiple projects) with regard to time, budget and quality.
  • Manage project scope.
  • Ensure adherence to the project plan by all project participants.
  • Mediate problems encountered by team members.

 

Competency

  • Expert proficiency in MS Office products including Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills, ability to track several projects concurrently.
  • Understanding of general business processes.
  • Familiarity with database and software development concepts, knowledge of SQL 2005 a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Flexibility in assigned working hours and ability to travel
  • Energetic and positive approach to rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex workplace.

 

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university

 

Work Environment:
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek.
  • Flexibility in assigned working hours and ability to travel.
  • Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard. Subject to sitting, walking, bending, twisting, standing and handling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment.
